Titans Starting Offense Projection
The Tennessee Titans begin training camp next month, as the entire team will report to Ascension Saint Thomas Sports Park in Nashville on July 23rd to kick off camp. Unlike mandatory minicamp, jobs will be at stake during the events of training camp, and Tennessee will have to decide their starting lineups on both sides of the ball. Today, we will focus on the offense and run through my prediction for who will start at each offensive position for the two-tone blue.
Quarterback: Will Levis
Running Back: Tony Pollard
Though Pollard is listed as the starter here, it will be a 1A and 1B scenario between Pollard and Spears.
Wide Receiver 1: Calvin Ridley
Wide Receiver 2: Deandre Hopkins
Like running back, Calvin Ridley and Deandre Hopkins will be a 1A and 1B situation. Though Hopkins has more familiarity with Will Levis, Ridley’s explosiveness and elite ability to separate makes him an ideal WR1 in today’s NFL.
Wide Receiver 3: Tyler Boyd
Tight End: Chig Okonkwo
Okonkwo’s starting spot isn’t as safe as you think. Second-year tight end Josh Whyle has taken strides this offseason and could push Okonkwo during training camp.
Left Tackle: JC Latham
Left Guard: Peter Skoronski
Center: Lloyd Cushenberry
Right Guard: Saahdiq Charles
After a strong minicamp, Charles is the frontrunner to capture the starting right guard spot. The 24-year-old’s size and ability to play with power fits offensive line coach Bill Callahan’s philosophies.
Right Tackle: Nicholas Petit-Frere
Tennessee’s right tackle situation will be the weak spot of the offense this season. Though John Ojukwu had a strong minicamp, and the team acquired Leroy Watson and Geron Christian this offseason, I expect Nicholas Petit-Frere to capture the role in training camp.
